Bowel Cancer in New Zealand: Risk with migration and variation in survival
New Zealand has the highest bowel cancer rates in the world and the risk in migrants to New Zealand differs from those born in New Zealand.
This study will be the first study to assess how risk is altered by the age of migration and the number of years lived in New Zealand. In addition, recent survival after diagnosis will be compared with that of the 1972-84 time period to assess the contribution of improvements in detection and treatment on changes in mortality from bowel cancer.
